Today’s update:

Neck feels about the same — a little bit better than when it happened, but still not “fixed” yet. I think I might have to be out of the gym for more than the planned 1 week, and that really sucks. On the flip side, I need it to get better and heal up so that I don’t re-injure it and can move forward faster (instead of going back early, and it causing more problems). Of course, like everything, we’ll see how it goes. I go back to the chiropractor on Friday, and already have appointments set up for both the following Monday and Wednesday.

Exercise for yesterday was 1 hour of walking outside around my neighborhood. Again, there was no abdominal work, because I didn’t want to place any strain on my neck issue. I’m not sure if I will be able to do any walking today, I actually have a bunch of things I need to get done. (car needs new tires, and roommate and I have to go through all of our stuff stored out in the garage)

Sometimes, it’s just about doing the best you can, with what you’ve got. I really hate not being in the gym and lifting and trying to get better and better, but I can’t do that at the moment, I need to chill out and heal up.

Food for yesterday was the last of the rotisserie chicken, so breakfast was 7 ounces of rotisserie chicken with 7 Tbsp of guacamole. My second meal was the same thing. I didn’t cook anything last night, so I will do that tonight for the coming up week! My last meal was a frozen wild blueberry heavy cream protein shake, with almonds and cinnamon.

Water intake was about 4.5 Liters, and my weight stayed the same today. OK, off to go get things done!

Day 414 – End of Week 59

Today’s update:

Today is the end of week 59! Last week I weighed in at 187.0 pounds, and today I weighed in at 185.8 pounds! That’s a loss of 1.2 pounds for the week, and a total loss of 113.6 pounds since I started!

Well, again, this was certainly an “interesting” week this past week, but not for good reasons! Last Thursday I injured my neck in the gym — I pulled or strained a muscle so bad, and kept going with my workout, that I ended up being sick in the gym. (If you REALLY want to read about it, and haven’t already, you can check out last Friday’s update) It really affected me, and I’ve taken the whole week off from lifting, and a few days off completely from exercise of all kinds! I just started doing something again on Monday, with walking before work. I went to the chiropractor on Monday, and he couldn’t get the neck to move, but used a handheld device on it, and that stopped the occasional bouts of wooziness that I was feeling on Friday/Saturday/Sunday.

So, as mentioned, I decided to just make this a deload week from the gym, do no lifting and let everything rest and recover. Because I wasn’t feeling that good on Thursday after it happened, I didn’t prepare any meals for the week, and Friday/Saturday I ate out (at Wendy’s and Denny’s) — still ketogenic foods, but eating out almost always “messes” with my daily weights, and I went up in weight for a few days. Only in the last few days did it start dropping, although I’m sure some of that is due to not working out, and the fluid retention that happens with doing that.

On a positive note, my waist measurement is down a good bit! On my monthly mark (August 3rd) it was at 34.25 inches, and it is now solidly UNDER 34 inches! Do you know what that means? Well, if you remember, I started at 53 inches… that means I’m not that far away from having lost 20 inches off my waist!!! :) Can’t wait to hit it, that will be such an awesome feeling! I was talking before when I hit the 18 inch mark about how I had lost a foot and a half off my waist.. and I’m now already looking forward to: can I lose two feet off my waist??? I just don’t know if it’s even possible to get it down that low! It would mean I have to get down to a 29 inch waist! That would just be.. well, it’s sort of unfathomable right now, although I’d REALLY like to do it just to say I’ve lost 2 FEET off my waist, lol! I know I can certainly get close-ish to it, just don’t know if I can hit it!

Well, I will continue with taking my week off from the gym, and MIGHT go back on Saturday, but I have to see how I feel over the next couple of days. Main priority is healing up, but ya’ll know I HATE being out of the gym, I love being in there and pushing myself to get better and better! :)

Food for yesterday, after my walk and shower, started with a breakfast of 7 ounces of rotisserie chicken meat (drumstick, wing, thigh, breast with skin all mixed up together) and 7 ounces of guacamole. My second meal was the same thing. I have food sitting in the fridge waiting to be cooked later today or tomorrow, so I’ll have something different soon! Like I’ve said, the rotisserie chicken meat/guacamole combo is my “I didn’t have time to prepare anything!” meal. It’s not bad, but eating it for a few days in a row makes me WANT to cook up something more delicious and fatty! :) My last meal was a frozen wild blueberry heavy cream protein shake, with almonds and cinnamon.

Water intake was about 5.5 Liters, and my weight went down by 1.4 pound today (remember it spiked up for a few days in a row there, so this is sort of coming back to “normal”, although I haven’t done any lifting since Thursday…)
